- Movement Skills
- Moves with lead foot moving in that direction
- Opposite foot pushes off
- Weight remains on balls of feet
- Body position is low (center of gravity)
- Returns to Ready position
- Ready position “Athletic Position”
- Feet shoulder feet apart with non dominant slightly
in front
- Body position is low and balanced with feet pointing
forward
- Back is flat
- Arms extended in front with palms facing ceiling
- Underhand Serve
- Ball is at waist level in non-dominant hand held
slightly in front of striking hand
- Body weight is transferred to non-dominant foot
- Dominant hand swings forward to contact ball
- Contact underneath ball with fist or heel of hand
- Hitting arm follows through in direction of the
target
- Forearm Pass
- Starts in ready position
- Arms away from the body
- Clasp hands one inside the other
- Rotate arms inward with elbows extended and together
- Keeps eyes on ball
- Contact ball with forearms at waist level 2-3 inches
above hands
- Force is absorbed with body extension ( shrug
shoulders and extend legs)
- Follow through towards target
- Overhand Pass
- Ready position with arms bent above head
- Hands 4-6 inches above forehead
- Thumb and index fingers form a triangle through
which you can see the ball
- Rest of hand forms shape of the ball
- Shoulders and feet are square to target before
contact
- Contact of ball above forehand with finger pads
- The arms and legs are extended on contact
- Weight transfers to front foot on contact
- Hands move together in upward direction
