HEALTH RELATED FITNESS

 

Health Related Fitness helps you stay healthy. The five components relate to how well the systems of your to your overall state of health. Maintaining an acceptable level of the health related components of fitness is recognized as a hey element of a healthy lifestyle. The five components are:

 

CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE: the capacity of the respiratory system (lungs & blood vessels) and the circulatory system (heart, arteries, capillaries, and veins) to supply oxygen and nutrients to the muscle cells so that an activity can continue for a tong period of time.

 

FLEXIBILITY: the ability to move your joints fully through a wide range of motion.

 

MUSCULAR ENDURANCE: the ability for a muscle to produce a force repeatedly over a period of time.

 

MUSCULAR STRENGTH: the ability for a muscle to produce a maximum force one time.

 

BODY COMPOSITION: the percentage of body weight that is fat as compared to other tissues such as bone and muscle.
